Interesting concept of Sally's of why Ms. Hasselback is becoming
spokesperson for the formula company...might it be the only company who approached her
or better yet made the "better" offer (all the free formula she can guzzle or
$$$$$ for college of her choice since the child might lack a few more IQ
points and SAT points because she didn't breastfeed).
At least the professional brands don't persue celebrity spokespersons.
Wouldn't WBW be a hoot if we had a celebrity spokesperson celebrating their
child(ren)'s breastfeeding and encouraging other mothers to do the same.
Maybe that's a reason why we didn't get a good response to the AD Campaign was
because they didn't get a well known personality to hawk the importance of
breastfeeding (yes I am still upset with that campaign.)
With the prospect of Wilma visiting Florida I was just so amazed yesterday
at work as we kept on delivering babies that we just couldn't get the moms to
understand if this THING comes our way (hey we lost power with Cat.1 storm
Katerina before she became the storm of the century) we would need to promote
exclusive breastfeeding. I kept reminding them not to focus on how much
volume the baby was getting but the need to feed frequently.
Tomorrow will be worse because we will have even more because they
(management doesn't know how to say only medically necessary inductions or cs when a
storm is looming and the weekend is coming). Best go and remind the group to
remind the Moms...
