Here is my response to Tish Durkin

Wow, that was really sad, and sadly misinformed. I'm sorry that you will miss out on the pleasure that breastfeeding gives to both the mother and the baby. Women who get skilled help with breastfeeding soon after delivery do not suffer engorgement, plugged ducts, and all the other inconveniences or horrors that you suggest. And women who breastfeed get MORE rest, not less. Think of all the time spent on going to the store to buy the formula, prepare it correctly, wash and sterilize the bottles and equipment, take out all that garbage, warm the bottle, listen to the baby cry while waiting for the bottle to warm, feed the baby, burp the baby, clean up the vomit, walk the screaming, feverish baby all night while waiting for the doctor's office to open in the morning so you can get some medicine for that earache or bronchitis or diarrhea. All a breastfeeding mother has to do is lift her shirt. Give it some more thought and you may find it's easier than it seems. Modified milk from a completely unlike species or plant source cannot be compared to the living fluid that breastmilk is. And there is alot more to breastfeeding than just the breastmilk. Many women combine breastfeeding and bottle-feeding. If you want dad to feed baby at night sometimes, go ahead, there's no crime committed. You just have to make it work for you. If your baby had a choice, your baby would choose your milk directly from you every time.
