Hi all,
This mom that emailed me has apparently adopted a very small 9 month old
with a soft-palate cleft. She initially referred to the baby as a "soft-palate
baby", so I was guessing there was some sort of cleft issue. However, never
having heard that exact term before, I wasn't sure. The description of
submucosal cleft mentions a lack of muscle and bone in the hard palate, so I thought
that may have been what she meant at first. I sent her about 8 pages on
cleft palate, and just confirmed what the baby actually has. She's got a bunch of
LLL contacts now, so I hope we'll be able to help her.
It's funny because I always call Brandon (my son) a CHARGE baby, and people
always wonder what I mean! What's even funnier is that I got about 10 emails
telling me that everyone has a soft palate! I guess I need to be a bit more
specific in my emails! LOL ;o)
