Hi Betsy,

This rang bells with me. I had a mom with a baby that seemed unable
to stimulate an adequate milk supply, even with frequent feedings.
Could this baby have been latching badly or have a weak suck? She
introduced solids at about 3 1/2 months (to avoid bottles?) and
continued to nurse for at least a year.

Her experience with her next baby was a tottaly different story. She
had a very adequate milk supply and as far as I know, nursed
exclusively for at least 6 months. I never managed to figure this out.
Your comments would be helpful. (I am not an IBCLC and my training
was more than 20 years ago).

Thanks,
Pat (Cape Town)
