Project "Breastfeeding Book Recovery"

 

Dear Friends, 

 

I am over whelmed with joy from the out pouring of support for our fellow
LCs and LLLs who have lost so much.  Your willingness to give is heart
warming. Having been many times face to face with victims of a disaster and
listening to each one tell their story, only then could I begin to feel just
a little bit of their pain and loss.  We can never give back everything to
those who have lost so much, but know that your generosity will be something
they will never forget.   I know that Project "Breastfeeding Book Recovery"
will be an ongoing process over months as the LCs and LLLs begin to rebuild
their homes and professional lives.  Please know that I am committed to this
endeavor. 

 

I am hoping that some of you will be able to provide me with names and/or
contact name of some of the LCs and LLLs impacted by Hurricane Katrina.  I
have been in contact with our professional organizations and names are being
compiled of the LC and LLL in the affected, but any information you can
provide will be helpful.  Please know that all of your donations will find
their way to a needy breastfeeding support person affected by this disaster.


 

I have been in contact with companies who provide breastfeeding books and
material and they are willing to offer a discount for those of you wishing
to buy a new book for a LC or LLL impacted in the affected area.  I will be
e-mailing you information on how to buy a book at a discount as the
information becomes available to me. Information should be forth coming by
the end of the week.  You will find below instruction on how to proceed for
those of you already having books you wish to donate, (only books, no money
please).

 

1.   For each book you are donating: on a piece of paper write your Name and
Address and place the paper inside the book (a special message for the LC or
LLL receiving your donation is also a nice personal touch)

 

2.   Send your books to:
