Of course, there was no insult intended in suggesting
that IBCLCs are pulled for RN duties if needed. It
does indeed happen, at least in some hospitals, and I
am glad that it doesn't happen to you, nor in your
region. If it is insulting to anyone, it is the
administrators who do not think lactation "important"
enough to be one's dedicated job.
I want to wish all of those who-like me-are getting
ready for the Jewish New Year. May the coming year be
a sweet one.
