Laurie Beck states that she has a client who has frozen milk that smells
like vomit:

Laurie, this is common in women with high lipase in their breastmilk. What
your client will want to do is bring the milk to a quick boil and then
remove the milk from the heat (process called scalding) before she freezes
the milk. This scalding process removes the high lipase and thus the milk no
longer smells like vomit when thawed out.

Good luck,
Veronica Tingzon, IBCLC, CLE
