For people who are trying to figure out "gimmicky" ways of teaching
to adults (patients, clients, nurses, etc), I really recommend that
you look into Michelle Deck's work (her website is:
www.tool-trainers.com/). She is a childbirth educator, turned adult
educator and her ideas are great. She presented at a local
conference a couple of years ago and, after seeing her, I completely
changed the way I taught my classes. The families in my prenatal
classes really like the stuff (Props, easy ways to remember
processes, etc). She has published several books and her ideas are
easy to translate into other areas.
