Loni, please get the syllabus or any material your boss got from the  
conference.  I would particularly like to know the speaker and her bib  list.
The studies I have read do not support this premise.  If cup feeding  is done 
incorrectly, then babies could aspirate.  The key word,  incorrectly.
Funny, I don't see Level II or Level III nurseries worried about aspiration  
with bottle feeding but I see babies coughing and choking on bottles all the  
time.  Too many near term babies are being rushed out of the hospital by  
insurance companies and they are lousy feeders.  Many of these babies do  better 
with the cup than bottles or breast.
