Subject: Posterior Tongue-tie
Someone posted an article last week about a baby with a disfunctional suck
and I think they said the mom had sore nipples. I haven't been able to
retrieve the article from the archives. Anyway, the responder said it
sounded like posterior tongue-tie and the remedy was a simple clip. My
question is, Can you explain the anatomy for posterior tongu-tie? I can't
picture the anatomy. Are you talking about the back of the tongue or further
down on the frenulum? If you get too far down on the frenulum there can be
nerve and blood vessel invovlement. Thanks Joy Riddle RN BSN IBCLC
