meeting time off and don=B9t want to miss weekends with their families.

This is absolutely NOT true.  The ABM meeting has always been Fri-Sat-Sun with the basic breastfeeding course Thurs.  More than half of the leadership of ABM are clinical MDs, as are most of the membership.  Most of us take vacation time to attend the meetings.
 
The LLLI meeting was done, for the first time, "mid-week" this year purely for hotel rates reasons.
