Has anyone ever seen a nativity scene with Mary holding (feeding?) baby
Jesus?
I have one in a prominent place of honor in my home. It's Mary breastfeeding
Jesus. How do I know? Because for years I've begged and pleaded with my son
to carve it for me. He did such a beautiful job of it, and gave it to me at
Christmas 2003. I loved it and cried. I told him people would love this if he
made more. He thinks I'm the only one would would ever want one. It's quite
rustic. Mary is kneeling, you can make out her veil, hair, and head (no
facial features. She's holding Jesus. You can make out the baby in her arms. No
breast showing, but I know. And that is what mattered most to me. I cherish
it.
Sue, smiling as I look upon it now.
