I also use a marble and ping pong ball for mother and staff education and
love the looks on their faces - really how much milk is needed if the
tummy is this size?! This provides a powerful visual image for mums and
often protects them from panic at the thought that they don't have enough
for the baby.

I have a kiddies lunchbox with numerous items in it for a discussion
session on how these things may or may not relate to breastfeeding.

A large plastic 'hamburger'purchased from the pet shop (a dog toy, with
the squeaker removed) is also a perfect teaching aid and provides for a
bit of a giggle in antenatal classes. The memory, however, remains and is
helpful for when the baby has actually arrived and we need to practice the
wide gape.
