When the child can ask for it, it's probably time to move on-----stop
breastfeeding.

 

This is not the first time I have heard or read this quote.  It is a strange
point of reference in raising a child.  Whenever a child can ask for
something and be understood, such as for a parent, toy, food, diaper change
or the toilet, it is considered a milestone.  Wonder why asking for the
breast should be viewed with such intolerance.  It seems actually hostile to
the child.
