I remember my brother being given meat and orange juice at 2 weeks of
age and all the distress this caused the household as they couldn't
figure out why he was so unhappy.
 
I also remember my younger siblings receiving meat-based formula, and I
doubt it was processed to the extent they are today.  Probably just
pureed meat watered down enough to swallow, with other minor
modifications.  Anyone else remember the early MBF?
 
I had a lot of care of my infant sister, and regrettably I gave her
whole cow's milk to which I added molasses, thinking the result looked
like infant formula (which at that time was brownish-white).
