Women can have PCOS and not be obese. Irregular cycles and hirsuitism
(hairiness in places women are ususally not hairy) coupled with lack of
breast changes during pregnancy and early postpartum are all red flags.
If mom has access to a breastfeeding medicine specialist, that's a good
referral. I know Dr. Gabbay in our neck of the woods is having good (but
not perfect) results with PCOS mom with metformin.
