I work in a community hospital outside NYC. We do aprox 2000+ deliveries
a year. One thing I have been noticing is we seem to have more moms "hung
up" on pumping. I really seem to notice it in any mother with a history
of anxiety and/or depression. I think they just don't believe they have
enough milk unless they can actually "see it". Our patients come from
affluent areas (for the most part) and I sometimes wonder- Is the pump
becoming this generations "wet nurse"? No research to back up these
thought just my own observations..
<sigh> I was lazy too...rarely pumped...much easier to just feed the baby.
