I am way behind on reading posts but have seen a difference in the weight
gain after frenulum clipped. Mom was referred to us by her ped for insufficient
weight gain. Mom described a sleepy feeder who took an hour to feed and would
be back to breast within the hour. She didn't have sore nipples. But I did
notice a short frenulum. A visit to the peds the next AM and the tongue was
clipped. After pumping to increase her supply, at a week later she notices
improved feeds-more active baby and more content after feeds. Baby wasn't hurting her
nipples because his suck wasn't strong enough. She feels the difference now
and is very happy.
