Hi Renee,
I think that perhaps it might be worth suggesting to the ladies on the BB
that in order to evaluate whether adoptive breastfeeding is something they
wish to pursue that they need to listen to some mothers who have done it
successfully (it really is no different from "normal" breastfeeding, if
someone asks about breastfeeding on a general baby BB there will be those
who will post to describe how difficult breastfeeding was for them or their
sister or whoever and how it is not worth it). It is also worth saying that
mothers who have breastfed their adopted children often say that they feel
that it is the most significant thing they did in building their
relationship with their child (and visa versa). The experts on adoptive
breastfeeding are the mums who have done it.
