Great post - and just in case your co-workers think it's only the "lactation
nuts" that are questioning this, they might have an eye-opening view of
www.nofreelunch.org It has become such an issue that Kaiser in Northern
California (and by October in Southern California) refused to accept free
formula due to their pharmaceutical-agency policy, not breastfeeding-related
at all!
I give a presentation to student nurses who come to our county for a Public
Health Nursing rotation about breastfeeding - but I always add a section on
"ethics" and address the issue of accepting ANYTHING from ANY company -
their teachers LOVE it. Now they ask me to speak to EVERY class, not just
the ones that come to our county.
