I am not sure I saw the first of this thread, but I can think of 2 options 
off the top of my head.
1. Lie to the doctor and say you stopped bf. I really don't like to do 
things like this, but it is an option. Apparently the doctor does not want 
to assume any responsibility for prescribing the meds in case some untoward 
side effect would appear in the baby. He could counsel you to stop bf and if 
you decide not to, I'm not sure if he would bear any legal responsibility.
2. You could enlist the pediatrician so that the 2 doctors could cooperate, 
with you, of course, and agree to do some drug levels on the baby or close 
f/u for whatever side effects are possible in the infant.
