I was reading about this yesterday afternoon. Anyway, I was reading the new Lawrence and out my head, milk glucose can vary in a diabetic mother and tends to be higher and more variable. Infact it was twice as high in some women: non-diabetics 0.32mg/g and 0.7mg/g for diabetics. However, it is probably not important, at least from a nutrition point of view, because most of the calories are supplied by fat and lactose. The amount of free glucose is very, very low in milk and does not contribute sign. to energy in the infant (only 0.4%). Lactose does not vary anymore than the normal variation found in women.
I'd take a look a the info in Lawrence, it's quite detailed and useful.
