Dear Crystal,
The Nursing Mother's Companion by Kathleen Huggins has a wonderful appendix, including a ten percent weight loss chart, calculations for determinging a babies' milk needs during the first five days, and a second chart, with calculations, for babies' milk needs from five days to six weeks of age. This should help you in individualizing your calculations.

Hi all,
I need help in finding research on how much is expected intake within the
first 24 -48 hours of life. I remember being told that during the first
24hours the baby should get about 7cc/feeding or 1 oz, but can't find where
I got that info. Can anyone help me out? Need this ASAP.
Thanks,
