Dear Kathy,
I have personal experience with something very similar. One of my adult
daughters was diagnosed with a pituitary adenoma - same symptoms as
you've described. Following treatment in 2000 - 2002, it stabilized, but
it is currently growing again. Her prolactin levels have increased and
she is lactating again (without having been pregnant). Please contact me
off list:

  1. brain tumor question

Subject: brain tumor question

We have a mom who has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. She is Spanish
speaking and had few details except to say that she was advised to wean
her
6 month old because her prolactin level was high and the doctor thinks
prolactin is driving the tumor growth. Main symptom is terrible
headaches.
Has anyone heard of this? Mom is unsure if she will need chemo or
radiation
and we have already counseled her on these. Baby is six months old,
already
gets some formula and eats solid foods.
