Nikki, great note. The only line that I highlighted above (from Tom Hale)
still drives me crazy.
What this should read is "in mothers" not "in breastfeeding mothers." I
want statements of appropriate parenting not to take sides. When we in the
lactation community keep making the distinction of only rules applying to
"breastfeeding" mothers, this continues to give reasons for mothers to choice not to
breastfeed and clinicians to tell mothers that they cannot give their milk
to their babies.
Can anyone guess this is a hot topic for me?
