LAST thing I would want to give up. I would want to have help with all the
really hard parts of childrearing, the heavy lifting, the repetitive tasks
of providing goods and services, the dozens of daily decision points...but I
would want to hang on to the refuge of breastfeeding, the one thing (in the
absence of a wet-nurse) that my child could do only with me.
Chris, you really hit it on the head. I had to wean Jack at 14 months two
days before my chemo started (this past June)....its been one of the hardest
and SADDEST things I've EVER done. I pumped and dumped for a few days after my
complete mastectomy in April so I could have a little more time ad nurse him
on my one side(which is what I had been doing since he was about 4 months).
