Just have read and smiled about using ourselves to model for patients when
we teach....I think about Sheila Kitzinger who used her body to demonstrate
the Fallopian tubes to keep from feeling awkward. But an interesting sidebar
is several months ago I had pain in my left breast and rushed off to doc for
script for my slightly overdue mammogram, after the diagnostics were done and
I was relieved I realized I had been manipulating my left breast because I am
right handed, when I would demonstrate to patients. I know now when I am
doing it and and fully expect the strange tingles and sure enough they come
back, mentioned to doc and he agrees.
