I apologize to everyone for the delay in availability of the revised
hypoglycemia protocol. It is entirely my fault. I overcommitted my time this year
and just got the draft to the ABM protocol committee in September. As I
expanded it greatly, it is now in the process of "expert" review, then will be
voted on by the ABM Board. I am still hoping to have it up on the web by the
end of October, but it is really out of my hands at this point.
I think you will all find it useful. Although there are many more references
and longer discussions, the basic message is the same as the original:
universal routine screening is not evidence-based or helpful, and is probably
harmful.
