Not sure how this discussion started, because I have only been browsing
through LACTNET of late, but I thought I would share my son's story. He
was breastfed for 2 years, and has never needed orthodontics (he is now
14 ½ years old). He does have a prominent labial frenulum, and his upper
two front teeth had a large gap for many years. I had heard Brian Palmer
speak about this, and asked the dentist about clipping it. He decided to
pull some teeth (two back molars) to make room for those two front teeth
when the permanetn molars came in, and it worked! Never needed the
frenulum clipped, and the gapped closed.
