Mimi

I think it is possible that the stress affected her supply. Perhaps when she
got the news and "went to bed for 2 days" her family kept the baby away from
her more than they should or something like that. The baby may in fact have
some kind of disorder and began feeding poorly which also down regulated her
supply. This infant should be under the care of a pediatric endocrinologist,
in my opinion and worked up and followed very closely. Make sure mom has a
proper fitting breast flange and, in my opinion, the Classic is a more
effective pump than the Lactina. Perhaps mom can hand express last few cc's
after pumping to get a thorough emptying. Now might be the time to try herbs
or domperidone too.

I had a similar experience which was devastating but I did not lose my milk.
My infant dtr looked like she was having seizures and was worked up for
various things, including metabolic, infection, neuro. One doctor told us
she likely had a metabolic disorder that may lead to severe problems or
death. She is healthy at 11 yo now. Tests were normal and her seizure type
activity stopped.
