Hi all,

I just wanted to share a neat little event I experienced this week.
Postpartum lactation visit with a mother who had given birth the day
before. Mother said that her baby had breastfed well so far. It was about
time for another feeding, so we got the baby into position but she wasn't
interested. The mother seemed eager to show me that her baby was feeding
well, and was getting a bit anxious when she didn't latch on quickly. I
told her we could take the history and go over the basics and try again
afterwards, *but* I had her leave her baby in position to breastfeed.
About five minutes into our talk, baby decided to latch on and did so
without any coaxing. Mother was very happy, and I said that apparently her
baby was like most women, and needed a little time to get in the mood.
That got a laugh out of her.
