Let's take up Marsha Walker's challenge and send letters to the FTC objecting to the deceptive, false, and misleading advertising of formula that leads mothers to feel it's safe and adequate and practically as good as breastfeeding.

We have lactnet members all across the US and around the world. When Canada has asked for letters, I've written from the US, saying that the action they've taken (or haven't taken) is being noticed across the border. Lactnetters outside the US can do the same in this case: "I understand it's the FTC that approved the false and misleading ad that made my jaw drop here in Wabanaba. People here can get beheaded for a deception of this magnitude, especially since it involves babies who can't speak for themselves.."

If you can't write a letter this week or this month, do it this year. But if we all did it over the next few months... my goodness! That's not hundreds of letters; that's thousands! Send her post to your coalition members, suggest it at your League meeting. Let's have an impact by focusing our energy... and let's make the FDA our first target :-)

Marsha, any more direction you want to give us?
