Saw a mom (4th baby) yesterday morning who reported that she frequently gets
something odd on her nipples. This started happening with her third
pregnancy, continued through nursing her third baby, and happened 5 times with this
pregnancy, though there was nothing to see today. She says she gets what
appears to be "pea" sized cysts or blebs on the end of the nipple that continue
to enlarge to the point where she either has to have them lanced by a
physician or she can pop them herself. "Blood and pus" come out, and they are
excruciatingly painful until she is able to get enough out that the pain is
relieved. Happens on both sides. She was able to find out what it was -- a very
unusual condition, but she couldn't remember the name of it. Her physician
told her that when she knows it is going to happen she can take antibiotics,
but she says she has no warning signs until they begin to grow, and then she
just has to wait it out. Sounds almost like a boil....
Has anyone heard of anything like this?
