I've just had a call from a company called "Ogilvy" here in South Africa.

They are producing a "ready-made milk" for toddlers or babies once they're
weaned, and want to know if "legally" there would be anything wrong with
their marketing "punch-line" being something like: "IT'S THE NEXT BEST THING
TO MOTHER'S MILK"?

I told her that I think it would make it more easy for some mothers to wean
and go onto this milk if they used this wording, as they would 'trust' that
it is almost as good as mother's milk, and yet nothing else can come close.!
For now I won't go into detail with all that I said, except that I told her
that I 'trusted' that formula was almost as good as breastmilk with my first
baby, and he's the one that we've had the most problems with, including ADD.
(I diplomatically tried to do my part for BF. LOL)

She said they agreed that mother's milk is best, but they wanted to produce
something that's the 'next step' and the 'next best thing' for those mothers
who can't or choose not to feed past a year, and wanted to know if it would
be legal for them to use this wording.

Does anyone have info in whether it would go against
"Breastfeeding-friendly" policies if they do?

(I went to www.ogilvy.com <http://www.ogilvy.com/> and was puzzled by what
I found, until I clicked on "what we do" and saw that they're related to
Nestle, although when I asked her if she was calling from Nestle, she said
no.)

PS: Thanks for all the feed-back on "milk reservoirs" behind the nipple - I
will respond with my view tomorrow as today is a run-away day!! LOL)
