Does Awhonn know that your director had sponsorship from Ross. A few years
back here in Ontario Canada, the Canadian arm of AWHONN had a conference
with every single formula rep there. We all raised a big noise, as there was
to be a debate as well about the "need or not, to becoming baby friendly".
At that time we were told that the American group had no attachment with the
companies. Is that no longer the case?

Subject: Against the Code?
Sticky question. Our hospital is promoting Evidence-Based practice and the
education of the nurses. Our director is holding 4 yearly inservices based
on AWHONN modules on different topics, all of which cost money. I attended
one of these today and unknown to me prior to attending, the money obtained
for
this is from Ross Lab. The formula rep was there and brought goodies to
the
inservice (I had none). Am I going against Code to attend these hospital
sponsored inservices? Thanks! Claudia Globerger RN/IBCLC
