Hi All,
Any input regarding this mom's path for thrush treatment would be
appreciated. I have permission to post this email from the LLL mom who
contacted me:
"So, I wondered if you would give me your opinion about my treatment?
This is what we will do:
Nystatin oral suspension liquid for Gracie's mouth after every feeding
Clotrimazole cream for nipples after every feeding...increased air time as
well as frequent change of disposable pads
Diflucan...my OB prescribed 2 doses of 150mg (one today, one Fri.)
Garlic and echinacea Supplements for me 3 times a day
Acidopholis for both of us 3 times a day
Cut out dairy and simple carbs/sugar out of diet
Would I be better off using genetian violet instead of the cream my OB
prescribed?
I would normally not be so crazy about treatments but the pain has been
going on so long and Gracie seems to really be effected now as well. She is
very gassy and cranky, has white patches, comes off the breast frequently,
and cries while feeding. She is also not sleeping well.
What do you think?"
Thanks very much,
Dianne Oliver, LLLL, IBCLC
