Barbara wisely says:
<<If the artificial baby milk industry truly had the best interests of the
survivors at heart, they would donate money to the Aid organizations who
have
assessment teams in place and truly know and understand what is needed at
each
stage of recovery.>>
And if they really felt that formula was the best donation, they would give
ready to feed formula in disposable bottles -- i.e. donate large amounts of
RTF in the same bottles that they use in the hospitals. No water needed for
mixing, no water needed for washing/cleaning the bottles. And while they are
at it, they can donate thousands of those disposable nipples.
Of course, I really think all women should be told that when they choose to
formula feed, they ought to breastfeed a few times a day "just in case." You
never know when the electricity is going to go, or the clean water is going
to be contaminated by clostrosporidium....
After all, people are forever telling breastfeeding mothers that they need
to give bottles "just in case...." Why not reverse it?
