Not specifically low carb, but one concern I have heard expressed about
rapid weight loss during nursing is that any contaminants stored in mom's
body are stored in her fat.  Rapid breakdown of that fat could (in theory at
least) dump large amounts of those contaminants into her circulation and
subsequently in her milk.  The amounts released by gradual (about a pound a
week) weight loss are not so much a concern.
