Let's see if I have this concept right-
If a mom reads all the evidence stating that a baby should ride in a car seat, but decides she is more comfortable holding her baby in her arms while in the car, then we should help her feel comfortable with this so the baby won't sense her discomfort if she puts him in a car seat just because others tell her she should.?
Mom finds that her baby seems to sleep better (and hence mom gets more sleep) when she puts him to bed on his tummy. She has read all the research about "back to sleep" but after all, she was put to sleep on her tummy as a baby and she turned out fine. Since she has made the choice and a well-rested mom is important for the baby's sense of secruity and well being, then we should help her feel comfortable with that choice.?
Give me a break!!!
Winnie
