I don't know about trainers (horrible idea) but books on scheduled
feeding certainly suggest beginning a regime straight after birth :(

I occasionally get calls from mothers of babies aged just a few days,
asking me if the baby has already got 'bad sleep habits' because he
is feeding in an 'unregulated' way, according to the clock.

These mothers sometimes respond well to a different explanation of
what is happening, and sometimes they are very reluctant to hear it.
They have often read books, but sometimes, it's just they've heard
someone else's ideas of what a baby should be doing .
