The prime causes of hyperbilirubinemia in breastfed babies are LACK of
breastfeeding and separation of infant from mother. Lack of access directly
contributes to lack of breastfeeding.
There are tons of articles out there and they all boil down to these two
factors.
And then there is the unwarranted use of bottles....don't get me started :-)
