By all means, encourage (as strongly as you can) this mom to write or phone
her experience to the hospital.  She should send letters not only to the
head of the maternity unit, but also the Director of Nursing at the
hospital.  She should mention the nurse by name if she remembers it.  These
letters carry far more weight than anything you might say, especially if you
are looked at as being at all "fanatical" (which in my mind means truly
dedicated!).  Also, be sure you document what the mother reported to you,
how you responded, and what you are seeing as a result.

 

Good luck.  Situations like this can be very frustrating!
