Treat both mother and baby is medical opinion, as far as I know there is 
no research to back that up. Ruth Lawrence, MD, has been writing that 
for years, and I imagine it's based on her clinical experience, which I 
certainly respect.
That said, I have also had thrush clear up very well for clients when 
only the member of the dyad with symptoms was treated.
