I find it terrible that so many women find it so easy to steal (not
return, move, give away)such an expensive item and I have lost a number
of pumps in the last 11 years, 3 just this year!
That said I have to say that the pump companies do sell the hospital
grade rental type pumps. I have several clients who buy new kits from me
every time a friend or family member has a baby because they have a
Lactina that was bought before the Pump in Style came out, one mom has a
Classic because she had Premie twins and her husband didn't want to pay
rental fees, (years ago), I bought a Lactina in '96, I think, because the
wholesale price was going up and I wanted to own one, and some rental
stations try to buy instead of rent most of their pumps. (With the
theft rate though I couldn't imagine doing that.) I have also heard that
quite a number of moms are calling to buy the Symphony, there are
actually people out there who have the money to do so, I wish they would
come my way. Of course, selling a hospital grade doesn't make you more
than $100.00 to $200.00 in profit! So for me it is better that the
families rent, but I wouldn't turn away a buyer.
Anyway, just wanted to say that they do really sell lots of hospital
grade pumps. I have even had a couple of long term renters who decided
that they would like to buy the machine but reconsidered when they found
out that their rent couldn't be put towards the purchase. They weren't too
happy, but what could I do?
Sincerely,
Cheryl Marian
