If mom has prolactinoma, it is driving milk production, not the other
way around. This mom needs a second opinion, quickly.
If it is a prolactinoma that is growing, taking dostinex (cabergoline)
can help to reduce her prolactin levels. If the dose is carefully
titrated, she can reduce prolactin enough to keep lactating. But once a
prolactinoma is big enough to cause symptoms, it generally requires surgery.
