I work as a LC in a unit with approximately 1600 deliveries a
year.Approximately 90% of our mothers intiate breastfeeding. We are
presently in a transition time. Our program is now going to focus more on
inpatient support and those outpatients that have been identified in the
community as needed extra support. As my inpatient role expands I would love
to hear your success stories. What have you done in your inpatient programs
that has worked? What hasn't worked in your hospital?Presently we do an
inpatient breastfeeding class and see identified feeding concerns on a daily
basis. I am looking for fresh ideas to enhance the inpatient breastfeeding
services. Thanks for your wisdom and taking the time to share these ideas.
Sincerely
Margaret Sherratt RN IBCLC
