My thirteen-month old (now 24!) nursed her way through a wicked stomach bug for about 5 days. She was just fine -- but my menstrual periods had returned at eleven months and suddenly - no period! I had worked my way through my feelings about having kids so close together when ---- my menstrual bleeding began again. When I read _Breastfeeding and Natural Child Spacing_ I realized what had happened. So don't be surprised if your hormonal balance seems a bit off with the uptick in nursing. Funny - I can't even remember when my periods came back after the other two!
