Hi Anne,
Peppermint is often implicated in heartburn. Those diagnosed w/chronic
heartburn (GERD, reflux, etc.) are advised to eliminate peppermint, along
with other foods which include fried or fatty foods, chocolate, spearmint,
garlic and onions, coffee and caffeinated cold drinks, and
alcohol. Possibly this baby is reacting to the peppermint from her mom's tea.
