In general, the same comic appears in all newspapers at the same time.
However, individual papers reserve the right the "censure" comics on a
given day and usually they run a past strip of the same comic that was
less offensive to the sensibilities of the editors. Our paper has done
this on any number of occasions when they felt a comic was in poor
taste or whatever. They do so with a statement in the comics that they
are doing so, so no one is surprised to see an old strip. I imagine the
websites of these comics get a lot of hits from Boston on those days.
