Hello all. I need some quick help. I have permission from this mother to
post. I have a mother who was using drugs at the begining of the pregnancy
but has been clean since mid September. She had drug screens weekly
throughout the pregnancy and tested negative for both urine and blood at
the birth 5 days ago. The baby was taken away from her today. She had been
breastfeeding and I have set her up with a pump. The plan was and still is
that she will continue to have weekly drug testing. I feel that this is one
way to help her keep clean and to feel a part of her baby's life. We go to
Court tomorrow. Anyone know of any articles that would support allowing her
to continue to pump and for the baby to get the milk as long as she remains
clean? I will be researching this myself but didn't know if anyone knew of
a good article. Thanks in advance.
